Week 8 of the fantasy football season is make or break for a lot of players in the playoff race, so if you’re in need of some help from a surprise source, here are some sleepers to consider:
Carson Palmer hasn’t exactly been fantasy relevant this year, but he’s going up against an Atlanta Falcons defense that has been awful this season. He’s likely to toss a ton of yards and a few scores this week.
Steven Ridley has been a huge disappointment so far in 2013, but he’s the starter again for the New England Patriots and he’s facing a Miami Dolphins defense that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running back this year, so he’s worth a roll of the dice as a bye week fill-in.
Cole Beasley is quietly emerging as a consistent receiving threat for the Dallas Cowboys and there are two things in his favor this week: He’s facing the Detroit Lions‘ pathetic secondary and Dallas has given up on the running game with DeMarco Murray injured. Beasley is a big-time sleeper this week.
Jordan Reed had a big game in Week 7 and he’s going up against a Denver Broncos defense that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this year. He’s almost a surefire starter, so to say he’s a sleeper is an understatement.
