NFL Injury Report for Week 8

The injury bug bit the NFL harder in Week 7 than it has in a long time. Aside from all the players who suffered season-ending injuries, here are the ones you need to know about that will affect this weekend’s contests:

Steven Jackson and Roddy White both missed the Atlanta Falcons‘ Week 7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and neither is expected to play in Week 8, so don’t risk it with either of them.

DeMarcus Ware and DeMarco Murray are both talking optimistically about their injuries, but don’t expect either to play in Week 8 and don’t be surprised if the Dallas Cowboys sit Miles Austin, whose hamstring injury clearly hasn’t healed.

Fred Jackson played in Week 7, but he aggravated his sprained MCL, so we might actually see a decent dose of C.J. Spiller this week.

Jonathan Stewart was originally thought to be back for Week 8, but that’s not the case. Don’t look for him any earlier than Week 9.

Jermichael Finley will play football again after his ICU scare, but it won’t’ be this week and James Jones is also still out, so the Green Bay Packers are thin at receiver and tight end.

Brandon Jacobs missed Week 7, so his hamstring injury is more serious than previously thought. Keep tabs on him right up until game time to make sure he’s playing on Sunday.

Michael Vick is expected to play in Week 8, but you never know with him. If he can’t go, Nick Foles is also questionable at best, so Matt Barkley might get his first NFL start on Sunday. Buckle up!
