Florida State Throttles NC State; Jameis Winston Inches Closer To Heisman Trophy

If Jameis Winston‘s career game against the Clemson Tigers in Week 8 was a “coming out party” then it’s safe to say that Week 9 was Winston’s “after party.” First and foremost; the Florida State Seminoles smacked the NC State Wolfpack into oblivion as FSU went into halftime with a 42-0 lead! It’s funny to think that some college football experts actually had the ‘Noles losing to the Wolfpack on Saturday — those “experts” would like to remain nameless.

Winston’s record-breaking narrative only grew as he threw for 229 passing yards in the first quarter against NC State, which is the most by any quarterback in the FBS this season. How in the world does the Wolfpack defense allow that many yards in one stinking quarter? Heck, that’s two games worth of yards for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert!

Either way, Winston’s historic afternoon will serve as just another feather in his cap as the 2013 Heisman Trophy race heats up. At this point; Winston’s cap is overflowing with feathers as he remains the mid-season favorite to capture the famous award.
