Marvin Jones Snags Four Touchdowns; Jets’ Defense Takes Major Step Back
Marvin Jones is going to remember this Sunday for the rest of his life.
The Cincinnati Bengals‘ wide receiver caught a franchise-record four touchdowns as Cincy solidified itself as an AFC Powerhouse. Meanwhile, Jones’ enormous afternoon has us all wondering just what happened to the supposedly dominant New York Jets‘ defense? Just last week, Rex Ryan‘s crew was being called one of the best units in the NFL as “Gang Green” earned a huge win over the New England Patriots. Ryan’s head coach job was in major jeopardy earlier in the preseason, but managed to win over New Yorkers with a handful of impressive victories.
While the Jets’ worries mount, Jones is enjoying one of the biggest “coming-out” parties of the season. The Bengals’ offense looks unstoppable as quarterback Andy Dalton has turned it on over the last three weeks with 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions! Dalton usually throws A.J. Green‘s way more often than not, but Jones has emerged a legitimate weapon in just his second NFL season.
Jones will have a great opportunity to follow up his incredible performance on Sunday as the Bengals will open Week 9 of the NFL season on Thursday Night Football, which means NFL fans across the country will be able to see this rising star in action.
