Week 10 BCS Standings Create New Rivalry, Hope

The BCS standings have been updated for Week 10 and we have a new rivalry between two teams that haven’t played this year and may not meet at all in 2013. After Florida State jumped Oregon in the Week 9 standings, the Ducks roared back with a huge win over UCLA to reclaim the No. 2 spot. But it’s not like the Seminoles didn’t impress the voters in their annihilation of North Carolina State.

Here’s the deal: Florida State has one signature win. It was a good one, but it’s only one. Oregon has two and they have a shot for the trifecta next week at Stanford. But once again, the Seminoles have a comeback with their own big-time showdown with Miami. So what happens after both teams look dominant again?

We’ll find out, but we found a few more things in Week 9 that should make the national championship race a little more interesting: Missouri isn’t as good as originally thought after a loss to South Carolina that knocked the Tigers out of the top five and proved they aren’t for real just yet. The same goes for Texas Tech as the previously undefeated Red Raiders finally had a real test against Oklahoma and came up short. The real question now is: Do any of the one-loss teams have a shot at the title game? We’ll soon find out.
