Justin Blackmon Suspended Again; Jaguars Inch Closer To Dreaded 0-16 Season

The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently in a steep hole with an NFL-worst 0-8 record. However, it’s safe to say that the Jags haven’t even hit rock bottom yet. Justin Blackmon was suspended indefinitely on Friday after violating the substance-abuse policy for the second time of his two-year NFL career. It’s unknown what kind of steps the Jaguars are going to take, but early reports say that Blackmon could be on his way out or Jacksonville before this March.

Many NFL draft pundits called Blackmon an absolute “steal” for the Jags when he slipped all the way to the seventh-overall pick. Oddly enough, the Blackmon selection has landed the Jaguars in a heap of trouble and will need multiple good drafts from here on out to bring themselves out of the gutter. Until then, Detroit Lions fans are hoping that the 2013 Jacksonville team can finish the year without a win, so that it can join the 2008 Lions as only NFL teams to pour in win-less seasons.

As for Blackmon’s NFL career; I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if the Oakland Raiders give this high-flying wide receiver another shot sometime soon.
