Nick Foles Throws 7 Touchdowns, Puts Michael Vick’s NFL Career On the Rocks

Apparently, Nick Foles dressed up as Peyton Manning this Halloween season and the second-year quarterback forgot to take off his costume! Just 59 days after the Denver Broncos‘ quarterback torched the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL’s regular season opener, Foles had an equally impressive afternoon versus the Oakland Raiders. Somehow, Foles managed to follow up his 80-yard performance in Week 7 with a 406 passing yard outing in Week 9.

If you can remember; the offseason talk in Philadelphia was about whether or not first-year NFL head coach Chip Kelly had any trust in Michael Vick to run his high-powered offense. Kelly decided to start Vick in the season opener, but it’s obvious that Foles will be the Eagles’ leader from here on out. Now, that puts Vick in a rather strange position.

At 33 years old, Vick’s best years are behind him and he doesn’t have a contract with the Eagles after the 2013 season, which means Vick could be on a path similar to that of Vince Young, Donovan McNabb or even Tim Tebow. So while Foles enjoys the aftermath of his historic seven-touchdown game an injured Vick is forced to count the days until free agency.
