Time For John Harbaugh To Bench Ray Rice, Hand Bernard Pierce The Reins

The Baltimore Ravens are suffering from a rather severe case of “Super Bowl XLVII hangover.” At 4-5, Baltimore has a slim chance at making the playoffs and everyone in the state of Maryland is pointing the finger at head coach John Harbaugh. Baltimore was able to shock the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10, but the heat is being put on Harbaugh after another disgusting weak of production from Ray Rice.
The Ravens’ starting running back rushed for 30 yards on Sunday, which puts his yards per carry at 2.7 for the season. Yeah — less than three yards per carry for a three-time All-Pro like Rice. I understand that No. 27 is battling hip issues and whatnot; but it’s time for Harbaugh to lay down the law and name Bernard Pierce the starter already. Pierce is only 23 years old and instead of throwing Rice out there play after play, let’s see what Pierce can do in a full-time role. At the end of the day; the Ravens really have nothing to lose as Pierce has surely been more of a bright spot than Rice this season.
