NFL Game of the Week: Chiefs at Broncos on Sunday Night Football

We’ve been waiting on this matchup for two months and it’s finally here. With a combined record of 17-1, the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in the Mile High City with first place in the extremely competitive AFC West on the line. It’s the number one offense against the league’s top defense, so it’s bound to be entertaining.

The main story line heading into this contest is Peyton Manning’s health. He got banged up in a win over the San Diego Chargers and he’s far less than 100 percent heading into this showdown against KC. Considering the Chiefs boast the NFL’s top pass rush, it will be imperative for the Broncos to protect Manning to ensure this victory.

On the flip side, the Chiefs’ offense will face its toughest test of the season trying to keep pace with the high-scoring Broncos attack. Alex Smith will be under a microscope as he tries to match Manning in the biggest game of the young 2013 season while Jamaal Charles’ MVP candidacy will also be on the line.

Waiting all day for Sunday night will be well worth it this week. Grab your popcorn and make sure you’re in front of the TV because this AFC West showdown is going to be a dandy.
