There has been plenty of chatter this week leading up to tonight’s Redskins vs. Cowboys game.  DeAngelo Hall made headlines with his statement that he was planning on targeting Tony Romo’s ribs and Felix Jones’ shoulder.  Some people had a problem with it.  I didn’t.  That’s the NFL.  It’s always worked that way, and it always will.  These players can, should, and will do whatever they can inside the rules of the game to get a competitive advantage.  Nothing wrong with it.

Tony Romo has been called a “hero” since his come-from-behind-despite-a-punctured-lung win over the San Francisco 49ers last week.  I’ve never heard of a punctured lung healing in five days.  Maybe he’s related to Wolverine.  He’s apparently going to be wearing some kind of blitz-proof vest and will likely be so doped up he can hardly stand.  Either way, it’s a good thing for the Redskins and this defense.

Here are a few more news, notes, and thoughts about tonight’s game:

- Miles Austin is out.

- Dez Bryant, Felix Jones, and the aforementioned Tony Romo are all expected to play.

- Laron Landry makes his season debut.

- Expect a heavy dosage of both Fred Davis and Chris Cooley

- The Cowboys defense has been solid against the run.  We must break that trend tonight with a nice combination of Tim Hightower and Roy Helu.

- Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan, Laron Landry, DeAngelo Hall, heck!  The entire defense will be gunning for Tony Romo.  His head better be on a swivel.

- Rex Grossman needs to play smart and under control.  I know it’s Monday Night Football and you’re staring at 3-0, but stay medium Rex.

Let’s play!
