One of the great things about the NFL Bye Week is it gives teams and players an extra week to get healthy.  Unfortunately for the Redskins, they still have a few guys who are banged up.

Chris Cooley, Anthony Armstrong, Tim Hightower, and Phillip Buchanon are all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Eagles.

Cooley has been battling a knee injury since the preseason and just recently had his knee drained.  He’ll probably suit up and play, but expect to get Fred Davis to get most of the looks at tight end this week.

Anthony Armstrong is still nursing a bad hamstring, but thinks he should be able to go.  I’ve said it before.  With Armstrong banged up and Donte’ Stallworth largely ineffective, I think it’s time to give rookie Leonard Hankerson a look.

Tim Hightower has a sore shoulder, but he’s also likely to play.  How much of an impact he’ll have remains to be seen.  Ryan Torain will likely give the bulk of the carries, and don’t be surprised to see rookie Roy Helu get some more playing time this week as well.

And finally, I wrote an article last week about Phillip Buchanon returning to the lineup following his four-game suspension for violating league rules.  Unfortunately, he’s still dealing with a bad neck so it is unknown if he’ll be able to play this week or not.  If he can’t go, it looks like Kevin Barnes and Byron Westbrook will again be called upon in nickel situations to help stop this high-powered Michael Vick-lead Eagles offense.

All that being said, (knock on wood), the Redskins have been one of the luckier teams this season when it comes to injuries.  Hopefully they can keep that going.
