To The Washington Redskins, Marion Barry is Just Another Bitter Fan
Honestly, who really cares what Marion Barry thinks about the Washington Redskins?
I know things are slow but, really?
In a recent Washington Post article, he said the following: “Redskins have been a great disappointment since they left Washington D.C…”A lot of us have had a hard time holding to our loyalties after seeing Super Bowl after Super Bowl and play-off game after play-off game.”
Well now Mr. Barry, I think that puts you in the same position as every other angry fan who follows the Washington Redskins.
But, when it comes to loyalties, either you’re a Redskins fan, or someone who just likes them.
I don’t think a relocation is needed: A team makeover is needed, and that is happening.
I honestly think the former Mayor’s words only found depth because he’s a politician . Now he’s going to be the spokesperson of the “Bring the Redskins back so we can win a championship?” campaign? Come on.
Sorry Mr. Barry, it takes more than relocation to win championships. And yes, we all chastise the Redskins’ performance, but we also back up those complaints with credible evidence of where they could do better each season, from a writer’s and fan’s point of view.
Dogging Dan Snyder without no substance to your words is nothing more than…a rant. Take a number, get in line with everyone else that hated the 2011 season. Maybe you should try doing that on my blog.
Anyone can use Doug Williams as a battle cry.
However, I can’t blast the former mayor completely. Later he did tweet the following, summing up his feelings:
So now we’re at the meat of the issue: He just wants them in D.C. again. And of course, he wants them to get back to winning games. I think we can all share in that sentiment, but relocation won’t make it any better.
