Participants in Boston Marathon Continued Running to Mass General Hospital to Donate Blood

By Dan Parzych

It was a tragic day in Boston as two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon around Copley Square in the city’s center–killing two as of now and injuring more than 50. As tragic of an event as this is, you can’t help but tear up to hear the story of the act of kindness surrounding some of the runners finishing the race that made the decision to keep running to the Mass General Hospital afterwards.

There’s no question the events that took place today are devastating and no individual should ever have to suffer through something like this. However, it’s amazing to see these individuals that participated in the race go the extra mile by running to the hospital to help out those in need considering how overwhelming things are at Mass General Hospital at the moment.

Details are still coming in as far as who is responsible for planting the bombs, but we do know that a third bomb was found and defused before any harm could be done. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of the victims involved in this tragic event. No individual should ever have to go through what the city of Boston is going through today, but it’s good to see there are kind people in the world willing to go out of their way to treat those in need at this time.
