If you couldn’t tell, the Texas Longhorns‘ fan base really want Nick Saban to leave the Alabama Crimson Tide after this season and book for the burnt orange. Hopefully Saban doesn’t get wind of these shirts though, because the elite head coach is likely to order a box full and burn them. Honestly, do the folks in Texas think they are back in middle school or something?
I can’t recall a prestigious university acting with this much desperation since…[insert program here.]
Either way, the Longhorns fans are simply so disappointed with their team starting 1-2 that they are already looking forward to the 2014 campaign — what true optimists?! You can see the faith in Mack Brown has all but vanished in the Texas heat, because these shirts surely weren’t around in 2006, when Brown led Texas to a National Championship.
However, time has apparently turned the Brown supporters into Saban supporters, and it won’t be long until the ladder group is rewarded with Texas making a change at the head coach position. In fact, if the Longhorns are upended by a reeling Kansas State Wildcats team this Saturday then Brown likely won’t even be the Texas head coach this time tomorrow!
While the Saban shirts are obviously hilarious, they also represent a changing of the guard in Texas as this kind of stunt is the kind of thing you expect at your high school…not at a program like Texas.
