It’s widely known that the Cincinnati Reds are officially in rebuild mode this offseason. Although returns haven’t been exactly great, the Reds have traded Todd Frazier and Aroldis Chapman in the last month. The Reds even had a deal in place to trade Brandon Phillips, a fan favorite, but it fell through after Phillips rejected the trade. The logical next move is to trade Jay Bruce, who only has one year left on his contract and doesn’t seem to be in the future plans of the Reds. Sabermetrics have made players like Bruce less desirable in recent future, but with his arm and power, someone is bound to take a chance on him.

It is looking more and more like a reunion with Chris Davis is unlikely for the Orioles. Bruce would be a nice substitute for the power lost and allow Mark Trumbo to play first base instead of in the outfield.
4. Los Angeles Angels

With the recent news of the Angels not wanting to spend on a big free agent, Bruce could be the answer. Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, and Bruce could be a scary middle of the lineup.
3. Colorado Rockies

Sure the Rockies are looking to get rid of outfielders and not take on another one, but maybe a Bruce for Carlos Gonzalez trade could work out. The Rockies would get rid of Gonzalez’s contract and Bruce would get the benefit of playing at Coors Field.
2. Cleveland Indians

It would be awkward in the Ohio Cup next season (the series between the Reds and the Indians), but the Indians could use some power and have the pitching the Reds covet. Reds fans wouldn’t be too happy.
1. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have been involved in talks with the big name free agent outfielders, but if that doesn’t work out could a Frazier-Bruce reunion be in the works? A good season from Bruce could be just what the White Sox need to become legitimate contenders.
