On Wednesday night, benches cleared during Toronto Blue Jays vs. Atlanta Braves after Jose Bautista clobbered a three-run dinger and subsequently executed a poorly-timed bat flip.

Everyone expected the Braves to retaliate on Thursday night, and that’s indeed what happened.
In the first inning, Braves hurler Julio Teheran plunked Joey Bats in the thigh.

Unfortunately for the Braves, the maneuver backfired, as Teheran went on to give up three runs in the inning.
The unwritten rules work against ATL. The struggling Teheran drills Bautista, who reaches base to start a 3-run rally. What’s the point?

Both benches were immediately warned.

As you probably remember, Bautista executed one of the most epic bat flips in MLB history during the 2015 playoffs against the Texas Rangers.
Bautista would be best served by saving his excitement for big games like that, as it’s somewhat understandable to see in an incredibly pivotal moment…
