The Pelicans were expected to significantly improve this season after hiring Alvin Gentry from the Golden State Warriors and with the further development of Anthony Davis. Unfortunately, the team has started 0-5, and it's becoming more obvious that the team needs another star to team with Davis.

Adding Rose would possibly affect D'Angelo Russell's growth a bit, but he would also give them the building block that they've been so desperately seeking, especially if Kobe Bryant retires after this season.

Right now, Mark Cuban's team isn't a serious threat to contend, but the Mavs are also too talented to finish high in the draft lottery. While Dallas did add Deron Williams in the offseason, it might be beneficial to have Rose and Williams play together in the back-court.

Pat Riley desperately wants to turn his team to contender-status. With Goran Dragic not fitting in with the Heat to this point, Rose would provide a significant upgrade at the point, while also taking pressure off Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to provide all the scoring.
