Throughout the recruiting process, there are often times when coaches and assistants will make promises to potential recruits that they simply cannot guarantee.
However, there are some rare occassions where everything lives up to the expectations of the student-athlete.
For Ohio State Buckeyes star running back Ezekiel Elliott, everything has happened just as head coach Urban Meyer told him it would when he was pitching Columbus as the best fit.
In a very cool Twitter message, Elliott’s father shared a photo that was sent to his son by the Buckeyes head coach.
When Elliott was being recruited, Meyer made him a promise that he would be in the Heisman Trophy discussion were he to join Ohio State.

Now, just a few years later, Elliott is set to enter the season as the Heisman favorite and one of the top NFL prospects in the entire nation. Oh, yeah, there is that whole national championship thing, too.
