Dallas Cowboys Handle New York Giants, Sport Best Record in NFL
On a day where DeMarco Murray made NFL history by becoming the first player ever to start the season with seven consecutive 100-yard games, the Dallas Cowboys continued rolling along.
The New York Giants came into AT&T Stadium pretty banged up; in fact, they were minus their No. 1 wide receiver and No.1 running back, but as is always the case when they play the Cowboys, they battled.
The Cowboys managed to withstand everything the Giants threw at them, and really answered a lot of questions on Sunday. I learned that they are, in fact, a grind it out, punch you in the mouth-type of team.
On offense, they have more firepower than they know what to do with. They dare opposing teams to load the box up to try and stop the run; in fact, I think they encourage it because it opens the door up for big plays to Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams, Jason Witten and now, Gavin Escobar, who’s found the end zone three times in the last two games.
Just when it seemed as though the Giants were getting something going, the Cowboys’ defense rose to the occasion and now, in back-to-back wins, the defense has shut the door on the opposing team by forcing a turnover.
I also want to give, you, the fans a heartfelt applause because on Sunday, you showed up; AT&T Stadium was as loud as I’ve ever heard it. You, the fans, played a big role in Sunday’s win because you were so loud that it forced the Giants to jump offsides on multiple occasions. Salute!
Before the season started, I predicted that the Cowboys would sweep the NFC East, and on Sunday they got one step closer to doing so. I half-heartedly joked with my brother-in-law about it, but let me ask you… if the Cowboys continue playing the way they have, will they lose another game?
