When the Cleveland Browns acquired QB Brock Osweiler from the Houston Texans, many believed Cleveland would ultimately release him at some point long before the team began offseason activities.
With that no longer being the case, it appears Osweiler will indeed be given the opportunity to battle with Cody Kessler, Kevin Hogan and DeShone Kizer for the starting job.
Osweiler was asked if he is good enough to be a starting quarterback in the NFL by a reporter on Wednesday, and didn’t waiver in the confidence he has in his abilities.

“I think the proof is in the film for the past two years.” Osweiler replied.
Many NFL aficionados, scouts, and Texans fans alike would argue there’s undeniable film evidence that suggests Osweiler is nowhere near capable of adequately holding down a starting gig.
However, as former NFL cornerback Antonio Cromartie pointed out on Twitter, expecting Osweiler to say he is a total bum who will ride the bench all season would be foolish.
@BatmanPorchia @RuiterWrongFAN This is what I don’t. What’s wrong with his answer. He has confidence in himself. What’s wrong with that. Let him prove it. He won games.
