The New York Islanders are looking to rebound from an atrocious 2013-14 season that saw them finish with the third worst record in the Eastern Conference. Here are 5 games on the team's schedule in 2014-15 that you won't want to miss.
October 21st, 2014: New York Islanders vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Nikolai Kulemin left the Toronto Maple Leafs in free agency to sign with the Islanders. This will be his first game against his old team, and fellow former Leaf Mikhail Grabovski will be in on the action as well.

New York finally found some stability in net in the form of Jaroslav Halak, who will return to the Scottrade Center for the first time since the St. Louis Blues traded him in the Ryan Miller deal at last year's deadline.

New York's home opener against what projects to be a mediocre Carolina Hurricanes squad should tell us pretty quickly whether or not the Islanders will be back in the postseason picture this year.
April 11th, 2015: New York Islanders vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

In a weak Metropolitan division that doesn't boast any true playoff lock other than the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Islanders may very well be battling the Columbus Blue Jackets for one of the East's final playoff spots in April. It's all the more interesting for viewers, then, that these two teams play on the last day of the season.
October 18th, 2014: New York Islanders at Pittsburgh Penguins

This will be the first match-up between the Islanders and Penguins in 2014-15. After an all-out brawl in 2011 and a surprisingly competitive playoff series in 2013, the two teams have developed a powerful mutual dislike for one another.
