With the Winnipeg Jets on the verge of their first playoff berth since relocating form Atlanta the team still has some work to do. While the team’s defense and goaltending from Michael Hutching have both been stellar the team’s forwards could use some tweaking. With Evander Kane - for better or for worse - out for the season the need becomes more pressing as the deadline inches closer.
5. Chris Neil

While he wouldn’t replace Kane’s offense, the physicality would surely be there as the career Senator would fit in well with this Winnipeg squad. In the West where size and snarl matter Neil would fit both those criteria.
4. Jiri Tlustny

The Hurricanes winger wouldn’t cost a whole lot and he’d definitely give the team’s offense a boost if used correctly. Going from a struggling team like Carolina to a team gunning for the playoffs like Winnipeg could work wonders for Tlustny.
3. Daniel Winnik

The big forward has speed and would bring a new look to the team’s less than stellar bottom six forwards. With the Leafs sinking faster and faster look for Winnik to be on the move soon and the Jets to be one of the teams that come calling.
2. Scottie Upshall

The Panthers winger is instant energy and have shown timely offense in the past making him a very intriguing possibility. Florida is in the playoff picture, so a deal is unlikely, but with the way the standings change daily that could change quickly.
1. Chris Stewart

While he’s struggled at times this season Stewart brings size and a nice, if inconsistent, offensive game. Look for the Jets to be one of the teams inquiring about the center as the Sabres begin their massive firesale.
