The Green Bay Packers have given us the best trick play of the season so far. Thursday night they were taking on the Chicago Bears when they were faced with a 4th and 26. They lined up to kick a field goal, but the Packers had the holder Tim Masthay pitch the ball to Tom Crabtree who rumbled into the end zone.

This play had everyone fooled.  Watching it live, I missed it at first but I saw Crabtree rumbling through the line to the end zone.  It was perfectly run and the Bears had no idea that it was coming.  Only one guy had a chance to stop him and his tackling attempt wasn’t that great.

The game hasn’t been what we have all expected but watching trick plays like this is always fun.  When plays like these work out, they are pretty interesting.  It was a well run play and no one there thought it was coming.  That is when you know you ran a great play.

Maybe we will see GB run this play a couple more times this year.  It worked so well that a lot of people would love to see it again.  I bet Bears fans will even tip their cap to a play like this.  It was perfectly run and sometimes all you can do is just congratulate the team and move on.

Certainly a good debut for Thursday Night Football this season.  Hopefully these games keep delivering.
