Intro

intro
Thomas Campbell USA TODAY SPORTS

In the world of sports, a nickname says a lot. Not every player ends up with a nickname and not every nickname is a good one. Throughout time, there have been some good nicknames and some bad ones. In this list, we bring you 15 of the best nicknames in sports.

You will recognize most of the ones on this list, but a couple might be unfamiliar to some fans. Some of these are blasts from the past and the younger generation might not know some of these classic nicknames. Some of the older generation might not be up to speed with some of the new ones that have graced the list.

On this list, you will find a range of nicknames from present day to the past. There are some guys that were left on the cutting room floor, but they were all in consideration to make this list. We feel that the names on this list are certainly worthy of being on here for the long all. Some of them describe the player, some describe their style of play, while others are just so wacky that they had to be included on this list.

If you feel that we missed a nickname that needs to be on here, let us know in the comments. Nothing better than a healthy debate on sport nicknames. Some of the ones that did not make it made it for some reasons that I would be happy to discuss. Otherwise, I feel that these nicknames cover a wide range of athletes. Plus, some of these are going to make you laugh out loud. I know I had fun putting this list together.

And with that, I think it is the perfect time to get to the list. Without any further wait, please enjoy our 15 best nicknames in sports.
