Usain Bolt Wins 100M at 2013 World Championships in the Rain

Just a few short weeks after amazing fans worldwide with his performance at the Anniversary Games, Usain Bolt has done it again. The world’s fastest man partook in the 100M at this year’s World Championships from Moscow on Sunday and even Mother Nature couldn’t slow him down.

As you can see, the rain was coming down at a pretty good rate during the reace. While most sprinters would have been slowed, Bolt is obviously no normal sprinter. He still managed to finish this race in an official time of 9.77.

Bolt got off to a bad start at the Anniversary Games in July and as a result he finished in a time of 9.85. However, he still was able to blow away the competition and win by a comfortable margin. This race at the WC was a little different, though, as it was clear Bolt was either going to finish first or second from the start. Justin Gatlin (USA), who finished in second, gave Bolt a very good run for his money. He stayed with the world’s fastest man for most of the 100M. Again, though, it was Bolt pulling away at the end as he always does.

Bolt still plans to defend his individual gold medals in the 100M and 200M at the 2016 Rio games. At this point, it’s clear he’s still the man to beat. If anyone can make history and win golds in three consecutive Olympic games, it’s going to be Usain Bolt.
