Ra'Shede Hageman

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Big Ten media days always have some pretty interesting personalities and interviews, but the Ra’Shede Hageman interview might top them all. The 6-foot-11, 311-pound Minnesota Golden Gophers defensive tackle really likes food and in an interview with some members of the media, he tells everyone why he would eat a shark.

Yeah, I’m not sure why he brought it up, because no one asked him. The topic was favorite foods and Hageman said that he would eat the fierce animal because he was be avenging people’s deaths. He also stated how mean sharks are. True story.

Check out the month-old, but recently recovered interview here:

Hageman was asked what his favorite food was and the big man said that he liked all food — shocker — but he didn’t like fish because they could eat some nasty things that are in the water. I don’t blame the guy, when he puts it that way, I’m not sure I like fish anymore either. Then he took it one step further, saying he would, however, eat a shark. Not one person brought it up so it must have been a random thought of his that he’s been thinking about for a while.

Why would he eat a shark? Well, because they’re mean, of course. He wants to avenge people’s deaths and take down the shark. He wouldn’t eat fish because they eat nasty things in the water, but he’d eat a shark and feel good about it even though it could potentially also have nasty things as well as humans inside of it?

Well said, Ra’Shede. Well said.
