Josh Freeman Runs Away From Media, Shoeless and Shirtless

It’s been a bad week for Josh Freeman. It started on Sunday as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their third straight game to open the 2013 season, and it continued on Wednesday with his benching. Now, it’s clear that the quarterback wants out of Tampa and things are about to get ugly. But has he hit bottom? It’s sounds like he could be a step further to that point, as it’s being reported that Freeman ran away from reporters on Friday.

Declining to speak to the media is one thing, but running away from them, literally, is another. Freeman was said to have bolted for a room at the Bucs’ facility where reporters are not allowed, without his shirt and shoes on. If true, that speaks volumes about how much he hates his current situation.

I guess, you can’t blame him. He’s in a very sticky situation right now. But at the same time, he’s not the first QB to be benched in favor of another player. Talking to the media and answering the same questions over and over, flat out has to suck. However, I’m not about to feel sorry for him or make excuses for him. Last time I checked, dude is making $8 million dollars this year.

This certainly isn’t what he signed on for in Tampa, but he needs to suck it up and act like an adult from this point forward. Does he realize how many people in this world would kill to hold a clipboard and make $8 million? C’mon man.
