With Doc Rivers as the new man in charge for the Los Angeles Clippers, things are looking up for this franchise that lost far too early in the 2012-13 NBA playoffs. The Clippers have a core of players that is young and talented and now that they have some valuable playoff experience, they can be even better in 2013-14.

Not many people are well aware that this team fired its head coach, Vinny Del Negro, in the offseason to make room for Rivers at the head of the table. It seems like some of the players wanted desperately for that move to take place and they got their wish.

Rivers is one of the best head coaches in the league and has been for quite some time. It’s always valuable to have a head coach who was also a former player because they know how to treat every situation.

However, there is one thing that Rivers can’t fix: the new, ugly Pacific blue uniforms.

You might not see the problem with this new alternate attire, but let me point it out to you. The jerseys have these things on the side that resemble sleeves. Oh wait, they are — and they are just awkward and awful. Call me old school or whatever you want to call me, but no basketball jersey should ever be made with sleeves. First of all, these players all look like they’re wearing t-shirts that are a size too small. They look like frat guys with tight shirts and a v-neck.

Cool color, poor choice of jersey.
