When thrust into the spotlight that is professional sports, plenty of athletes catch a lot more of the limelight than others. Some choose that life for themselves by partying and whatnot, while others simply have personalities that thrust them into the spotlight. Whatever the case may be, there are several athletes are are pretty "bro." Here are the 15 that most exemplify the word.

This guy is bigger than a lot of the football players he's a referee for. He reportedly started doing push-ups as soon as he found out the NFL and the referees had agreed to a new deal a few years ago and he's all-around awesome. He's one of the best known officials in all of sports and there's a reason for that.

Fielder has some of the most raw power in all of baseball and is a bro in the process. His extreme uppercut swing has added to his reputation, but he loves to enjoy himself off the field as well.

Morgan is hated by plenty around the league and for good reason. He's the type of player who frustrates you and makes you hate him if he's not on your team, but his actions are very bro. He actually played semi-pro hockey, which is pretty cool, but more importantly, he's just an odd and interesting guy.

He's probably taken more shots in the past five years than he's completed passes, but the former quarterback standout at USC knows how to party. His NFL career didn't exactly go how he envisioned it, but he's played minor roles in a couple of movies and his life is still in a pretty good place, especially in the partying aspects of it.

Swisher is a pretty crazy dude and he's also a pretty decent baseball player. His balls-to-the-wall playing style has earned him a solid reputation as a player who hustles all the time and he knows how to party off the field as well. He has a very public presence and that has helped earn him the reputation as a bro.

He's almost seven-feet tall, he speaks his mind and he finished No. 4 in NBA MVP voting this past season. Noah has his fair share of lovers and haters and that's why he's so popular. In many ways he's down-to-earth and in other ways he's completely crazy. That's just part of what makes him a bro.

Kane beat up a taxi driver toward the beginning of his career and gained some notoriety as a bit of a punk. He's definitely calmed down a bit since those days, but he's still as flashy as ever. As one of the most talented players in the NHL, Kane knows how good he is and that contributes to his larger-than-life persona.

The subject of scrutiny and plenty of feature stories leading up to the Super Bowl, the main thing that Sherman showed us about him is that he's a bro. He's willing to speak his mind and that mind is actually pretty brilliant. Sherman graduated from Stanford in less than four years and is a really bright guy. He still likes to enjoy himself, especially on the football field and that makes him a bro.

He's been at the center of a steroid investigation, played college baseball in Miami and taken MLB by storm with his play. Braun is a polarizing figure, more recently acquiring more haters, but his talent and persona still make him quite a bro, but not necessarily in a good way.

No. 6: Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers isn't a bro in the same way that most of these players are. The Packers' quarterback is a bro because he's very down-to-earth. If you just hung out with him, it would be very difficult to tell he was one of the best quarterbacks on the planet. His play on the field and his relatively quiet (besides his Discount Double Check commercials) persona off of it make him a bro in his own way.

TNT's coverage of the NBA is one of the most entertaining sports shows because it features banter between Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal. They are absolutely priceless when they're going back and forth. During his playing days, Barkley was a pretty big partier as well, so he's quite the bro.

No. 4: Bryce Harper

Harper is one of baseball's rising stars and he's also a bro. He went to community college to play baseball during what would've been his senior year of college so that he could play on a higher playing field before entering the MLB Draft. He was taken with the top overall pick in that draft and he's steadily gotten more popular since then.

Many would put Johnny Cleveland at the top of this list, but he really hasn't even reached his bro prime yet. Part of the reason he's not at the top of the list is that Cleveland isn't a town with the greatest night life and Manziel also has to mature in order to start in the NFL. That being said, nobody will ever forget Manziel's college antics, which included being kicked out of a party at the University of Texas.

No. 2: Derek Jeter

On the field, Jeter has the most hits of any player in the history of one of the most storied franchises in MLB history. Off the field, Jeter has been said to give a care package to his random hook-ups. Regardless of whether you agree with his lifestyle, he's pretty bro.

Gronkowski is essentially a frat guy who happens to be one of the best tight ends in all of football. He's been spotted numerous times partying hard and that's just the lifestyle he lives. If he can ever stay healthy, he can again be thought of as a football player primarily and a party animal second. For now, it's the other way around.
