In sports, retro jerseys can be some of the coolest of all. However, sometimes designers majorly screwed up back in the day. Here are 25 instances of that happening.
Red and yellow just doesn't work on a basketball jersey the way the Hawks have them here. The team has some pretty cool retro jerseys, but this isn't one of them.
The Lions haven't been the most successful franchise over the last couple decades, so maybe they should blame these jerseys. Their normal jerseys are pretty cool, but these plain ones just aren't working for them.
The Browns normal jerseys are pretty plain, but hey, add a number on the helmets and they're automatically awesome! That's not exactly how it works Cleveland.
As one of the most historic franchises in sports, the Packers have plenty of retro jerseys. Unfortunately, these jerseys aren't the best because there's just nothing going on with them.
The Rockets, like many other NBA teams have some really cool retro jerseys. However, mainly because of the colors involved here, these particular Rockets jerseys aren't their best.
Back in the day, the Astros were called the Colt .45s. It's sort of in bad taste now-a-days to still wear a jersey with a gun on the front.
As part of the futuristic 1999 MLB jersey project, the Rockies somehow had the worst jerseys the league designed. They should just stick to their normal jerseys.
The Cavaliers don't exactly have the most storied history and perhaps it's because people were put off by these jerseys. The baby blue is usually a nice touch, but not in this case.
The Bulls apparently borrowed the Cubs uniforms at one point in time and it looks horrible. Something just looks very off about this uniform.
The Cowboys are one of the most popular sports franchises, but these throwback jerseys are too plain. For a team that's normally very flashy, they shouldn't sport these uniforms anymore.
Many would enjoy it if the Redskins went to this logo permanently, but the jerseys themselves are awful. Again, yellow and red aren't the best for sports uniforms.
The Bengals need to stick to their tiger stripes on their helmets because their old jerseys were pitiful. Just having the team name on the helmet isn't good enough and looks pretty ridiculous.
The Broncos could compete for a Super Bowl this season, but they really shouldn't wear these jerseys this season. After all, it looks like someone soiled their uniforms before every game.
The Ravens have some pretty cool uniforms, but the old logo on the helmets don't really work. Having wings on the side of the logo just looks awkward.
The Nets have really plain jerseys now and their old jerseys weren't much better. These baby blue and red jerseys look pretty ridiculous.
The Lakers are one of the most famous franchises in history, but these jerseys should never be worn again. They're meant to wear purple and gold and not these strange blue and white uniforms.
The Grizzlies went with a jersey that just doesn't work in the NBA. Wearing this green and yellow makes them look more like NFL jerseys than anything else.
The Heat are still hurting over the departure of LeBron, but they should really be crying over these throwback uniforms. No NBA player was ever meant to play wearing pink and orange.
The Mariners had some pretty cool uniforms back in the day, but these weren't part of that bunch. The color scheme was pretty nice, but the font of the letters on the jersey looks very minor league.
Yet another awful example from the 1999 MLB uniform project, the Pirates did themselves to shame with these. They look like warm up jerseys for a minor league team rather than a regular game uniform of a major league team.
The Padres are another team with uniforms that look like people soiled them beforehand. These jerseys are just awful in every way.
Wearing teal jerseys along with a multi-colored horse in the middle just doesn't work. However, if it could help them win, Pistons fans would be all for bringing these ugly uniforms back.
The Eagles' light green jerseys are some of the coolest throwbacks in NFL history, but these are some of their worst. The random blue and yellow makes absolutely no sense.
The people who used to make Grizzlies jerseys apparently weren't great at their job. These turquoise jerseys are pretty darn ugly.
The Steelers are one of the most successful teams in NFL history. That's no thanks to these incredibly ugly uniforms that, for some reason, incorporate black and yellow blocks.
