It’s the season of giving and receiving and unfortunately, not everyone will be getting what they asked for. These 10 athletes have definitely spent their fair share of time on the naughty list this year.

Aside from being a leader on a team that has only been able to muster up three wins, Woodson's early-season comments came as a surprise to nearly all Oakland Raiders fans. Woodson admitted that the Oakland Raiders "suck" after just Week 2 of the season. Everyone knows the Raiders aren't good, but no one wants to hear it from an important member of the team, especially so early in the season.

Reason for coal: Waving the white flag early.

Chicago Bulls fans could not wait to see Rose take the court healthy. As a few games went by, Rose was sitting out more and more, causing concern. Then he made confusing comments stating he is sitting out for his future. He wants to be healthy at his son's graduation and future events. His comments made fans go crazy because they didn't sound like they should come from an MVP.

Adrian Peterson’s child abuse charges followed him around all year. His parenting sent people into heated debates about football players, parenting, punishment and the NFL overstepping its bounds. Peterson will end his year without playing and without pay.

Alex Rodriguez admitted to his use of performance-enhancing drugs. He was suspended for the entirety of the 2014 season. He vehemently denied his usage of PEDs after testing positive and prior to admitting to using them.

Greg Oden’s career seemed to be turning around. He played in a significant amount of games for the Miami Heat during the 2013-14 season. During the offseason, Oden went back to Indiana where, in August, he was charged for allegedly punching his ex-girlfriend in the face. All the work he did to turn his career around was flushed down the toilet immediately.

Reason for coal: He punched his ex-girlfriend in the face.
