2013 Fantasy Football: Vincent Jackson is a Must-Have at WR

Vincent Jackson has the capability and potential to be one of the NFL‘s leading receivers in 2013, despite the poor play of his quarterback Josh Freeman in the preseason.

Freeman had a terrible preseason game the other night, completing just six of 16 passes for 59 yards, scaring away some fantasy owners looking for a solid wide out to insert into their lineup. Well, I’m here to tell you that he’s too good to pass up, especially when the wide outs start coming off the board in the early-to-mid rounds.

Jackson caught a solid 72 passes for over 1,300 yards and eight touchdowns last season, leading the team in all categories but receiving touchdowns, owned by fellow wide out, Mike Williams.

However, with the ups and downs that Freeman is sure to have, the wide outs will likely suffer from the same unpredictable trend, but Jackson will likely be the leading receiver even when Freeman can’t put everything together.

He could have a breakout season in 2013 as most of his receiving numbers seem to be increasing over the past few seasons, with the exception of the 2010 season in which he only played five gamed.

If you need a solid second or third receiver on your team that can get you some solid catches and a few 100-yard games, look no further than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ No. 1 target, despite the inconsistency at quarterback.

Standing 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Jackson can help Freeman out by leaping up over corners and grabbing any ball thrown his way. I would say take your chances on this guy with tremendous upside. Don’t let his age, 30, scare you away.
