Week 13 Fantasy Football Dark Horse Sleeper: WR Roddy White

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

As far as wide receivers go, Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White has to be one of the most frustrating players to own this fantasy football season. He has only hauled in one total touchdown throughout the entire 2013 season and the four-time Pro Bowler has yet to post double-digit fantasy points in a single week.

White hasn’t gone over 45 receiving yards, and at times, he hasn’t even been worth the roster spot. He has been hampered by injuries all season, and after never missing a game in his entire career, White has missed a handful of games this year with ankle/hamstring injuries. He seemed to have a questionable tag next to his name each week, but after 12 horrendous weeks, the All-Pro wideout is finally beginning to get healthy.

There has been plenty of attention on the fact that QB Matt Ryan has thrown nine picks over the last five games, but he has only thrown two interceptions in the last three contests. It is no coincidence that the quarterback is playing much better since White has returned to the lineup and the duo will only get more comfortable together as the year wraps up.

Atlanta faces a struggling Buffalo Bills team this Sunday that has been vulnerable to the deep ball. Buffalo has allowed an astonishing 22 passing touchdowns on the year and this should be a favorable matchup for the team’s passing game to get back on track.  White should be able to get behind Buffalo’s defense a couple times this week and finish with a pretty respectable stat line.

If you have been sitting on White all year in hopes that he returns to glory, this is the week to get him in the starting lineup.
