Week 14 Fantasy Football Dark Horse Sleeper: TE Heath Miller

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

As the fantasy football playoffs open up this week, some big name tight ends are beginning to struggle, while others are ending up on the injury report. Either way, it has left a hole in the middle of many fantasy lineups.

There are plenty of underrated options to consider this week, including Heath Miller of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Miller has shockingly received 25 targets over the last three games alone. The tight end has hauled in 84 % of those targets (21) and has quickly rekindled his long-standing rapport with QB Ben Roethlisberger.

Miller has only scored one touchdown on the year, but he has had a couple big plays called back as well. He could easily have one or two more touchdowns if he wasn’t for some ill-timed penalties, so Miller’s touchdown totals could be somewhat misleading.

Miller draws a decent matchup this week, as Pitt faces the Miami Dolphins at home this Sunday. Miami is currently allowing 9.3 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, which is fifth-worst in the league. The defense is extremely thin in the middle and has had problem covering tight ends downfield all year. Miller will be a matchup for Roethlisberger to exploit all afternoon and the veteran will be very busy in the first round of the playoffs.

Miller will have another big game for fantasy owners this Sunday and the tight end should finish with around 70-80 yards in Week 14.
