With the 2014 NFL season nearly here, it’s go time for fantasy football season. Fantasy football drafts are in full swing and everyone is looking for that one player in the later round who can lead their team to victory. Here are the top 10 late-round dark horses for the 2014 fantasy football season.

10. QB Teddy Bridgewater – Minnesota Vikings

Bridgewater isn’t expected to start the season for the Vikings, but if Matt Cassel gets injured or flounders early on, Bridgewater could be a solid QB2 option moving forward.

9. TE Jared Cook – St. Louis Rams

Cook loses some value with the Sam Bradford injury, but he seems to get more comfortable in the Rams’ offense the more he plays.

8. WR Robert Woods – Buffalo Bills

Woods is a steal late in the draft, especially in deeper leagues. If E.J. Manuel can have a good start to the season, Woods could become a very valuable WR3 or bench option WR.

7. RB Trent Richardson – Indianapolis Colts

Has there been a more disappointing player in recent memory than Trent Richardson? He’s not a player you want as a RB1, but he will score touchdowns and that gives him great value as an RB2/Flex option against certain teams.

6. WR Jordan Matthews – Philadelphia Eagles

Next to Sammy Watkins, Matthews is my favorite of the rookie receivers. In an explosive offense like the Eagles, Matthews could have massive games in 2014.

5. RB Carlos Hyde – San Francisco 49ers

Hyde will see some time on the field this season for the 49ers. He’s the type of player you don’t want to waste an early pick on, but if you’re in your last or second-to-last round, you want this player on your team.

4. QB Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers

Rarely does Ben Roethlisberger have the type of poor season he had in 2013. Expect him to bounce back with over 4000 yards passing in 2014.

3. TE Delanie Walker – Tennessee Titans

Delanie Walker is explosive. If Jake Locker remains healthy, don’t be surprised to see Walker have around 80 receptions and eight touchdowns.

2. WR Jarrett Boykin – Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers is an elite quarterback, and Boykin has proven himself to be the solid WR3 option for the Packers’ offense. With Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson pulling defenders away, Boykin could finish as a high-end WR2.

1. WR Denarius Moore – Oakland Raider

My personal choice for breakout player of the year in both fantasy and in general, Moore has had consistent numbers throughout his career despite inconsistencies with his play and the play of Oakland’s quarterback. Matt Schaub was a borderline elite QB just a few years ago; Moore finally has the pieces in play to succeed.
