Daily Fantasy Football Week 1: Top 5 Players From 49ers vs. Cowboys

The over/under line for the Week 1 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers is set at 51.5 points. This is a great indicator of a potential high scoring affair with several players to target for your cash games and tournaments. Let's look at five players that should be in your lineups from this game.

(Prices are based off FanDuel salary-cap leagues)

Jason Witten has always been a popular and reliable target for Tony Romo throughout the years. This trend will not change in 2014 nor in their matchup against the 49ers. Although San Francisco was ranked 12th last year in defending TEs, it was mostly due to the presence of NaVorro Bowman who won't be in this game as he recovers from a torn ACL. This should make things easier for Witten and a seven-catch, 90-yard game should be expected.

4. Colin Kaepernick - QB ($8500)

Many people are concerned about Kaepernick's lackluster preseason performances, but we all need to remember that it was still the preseason, so try not to overreact. His matchup against the Cowboys is a juicy one as Dallas was ranked 31st in the league when it comes to defending the QB. With a multitude of passing targets and his own spectacular running ability, a stat line of 300 total yards with three total TDs isn't out of the question.

3. Vernon Davis - TE ($6300)

The Cowboys ranked 29th in defending the TE last year and don't seem as if they will significantly improve on that ranking in 2014. Therefore, this matchup was already ideal for Vernon Davis. However, with news coming out that Michael Crabtree has been limited in practice due to a calf injury, there may be a stronger focus on Davis in the passing game. I boldly predict that he will finish with at least eight catches, over 100 yards and two TDs.

2. Tony Romo - QB ($8300)

Romo suffers from what I call "misdirected bias." It's when a player is treated as a poor fantasy option due to real world failures that fall outside the scope of statistical performance. In Romo's case, his poor playoff record misleads people into thinking he's a bad choice. However, he usually puts up great numbers regardless of a win or loss. With that being said, don't be shocked when he gets over 350 yards and three or four TDs this Sunday.

1. Dez Bryant - WR ($8500)

Dez Bryant should have a monster game this Sunday. San Francisco lost three of their defensive backfield from last season and they will have a less impactful pass rush with Aldon Smith, Glenn Dorsey and NaVorro Bowman out. This will lead to Bryant being heavily targeted by Tony Romo and it wouldn't shock me if he finished with at least nine catches for over 160 yards and two touchdowns. He should be your top target from this game.
