Daily Fantasy Football Week 1: Top 5 Pickups From San Diego Chargers vs. Arizona Cardinals

The over/under line for this game is set at a moderate 45 points with Arizona as a three point favorite. However, I feel that this game will easily go over 50 total points, and having a decent amount of exposure to this game can end up paying handsomely in the end. Let's review the top five fantasy options for this game.

(Prices are based off FanDuel salary-cap leagues)

5. Michael Floyd - WR ($6,600)

Michael Floyd will look to build on a breakout 2013 season in this Monday Night home opener. The Chargers were pitiful against WRs in 2013 and were ranked 28th in the league. This bodes extremely well for the offensive attack plan that head coach Bruce Arians will deploy. He loves having Carson Palmer take shots down the field, and that aspect of the passing game is Floyd's specialty. I'm projecting five catches for 70 yards and one TD for him.

The former Heisman Trophy winner had a career year in passing yards last year with 4,274 and will look to build on that in 2014. With the emergence of Michael Floyd and the presence of Larry Fitzgerald, Palmer will be throwing the ball early and often against the Chargers. Now that he has a full grasp of the Bruce Arians system, I can see Palmer getting 280 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He is a good play for the price.

3. Keenan Allen - WR ($7,200)

If it wasn't for Eddie Lacy, it would have been Keenan Allen hoisting the 2013 Offensive Rookie of the Year trophy. His 71 catches, 1,046 yards and eight TDs had him ranked with some of the best WRs in the league. As the clear WR1 in the San Diego offense, he will draw the attention of elite CB Patrick Peterson, which may cause some issues. However, Allen will still see a lot of targets and finish with seven catches, close to 100 yards and a TD.

2. Larry Fitzgerald - WR ($6,900)

There has been concern over Fitzgerald not breaking 1,000 receiving yards over the past two seasons. However, and I know this is a reoccurring theme, but the Bruce Arians system will resolve that in 2014. While Arians will have Carson Palmer take long shots with Michael Floyd, most of the short and medium passes will go to Fitz. I fully expect him to get back to his elite level starting with nine grabs for 120 yards and two TDs against San Diego.

1. Philip Rivers - QB ($8,100)

A matchup against the Cardinals' defense would normally be one for concern. However, there is no Darnell Docket, Karlos Dansby or Daryl Washington for this game. Additionally, impact safety Tyrann Mathieu is questionable for the Monday Night game. This will make things easier for Rivers to dissect their defense and I fully anticipate a game where he throws for over 300 yards with three touchdowns and one INT to Patrick Peterson.
