Daily Fantasy Football Week 1 Buy or Sell: WR Justin Hunter

Should NFL fantasy owners buy the stock value of Tennessee Titans‘ flanker Justin Hunter? Well, it would seem that armchair GMs are collectively cautious about the sophomore receiver, and with good reason.

Currently, the WR has an average draft position of 10.04. Translation? He is 45th off the board at the position. The young wideout’s numbers don’t exactly help his case at this time. He hauled in a mere 18 passes last year, and the Titans quarterback position leaves quite a bit to be desired. It is, in fact, fantasy-adverse — and that’s being really nice.

But Hunter won’t be letting the those numbers dictate his fate with fantasy GMs, and he shouldn’t. The kid is an exceptional athlete. Standing at 6-foot-4, 203 pounds, he blazed a 4.44 at the NFL combine and wowed coaches with a jaw-dropping 39.5-inch vertical. Last year, he was hardly used. But this season, the Titans’ roster has suffered a jarring personnel turnover, and only Kendall Wright is flanked wide and in front of Hunter on the Titans’ depth chart.

Check and mate! Hunter more than held his own in Week 2 of the preseason against the New Orleans Saints, catching four passes for 111 yards and two touchdown passes — one of which was of the big-play variety at 64 yards. His presence is undeniable in the secondary, and he is a deep threat every time the ball is snapped.

Hunter could be a major steal, and fantasy sleeper for owners who are willing to roll the dice on him can cash in big, particularly given his current ADP.

Fantasy owners, if you have been entertaining thoughts of pulling the trigger on this young man, you should go ahead and do so. The Titans have a sleeper in Hunter who is poised be a nightmare to opposing secondaries. Buy him, or you will wish you had.
