2014 Fantasy Football Week 3 Start or Sit: WR Reggie Wayne

The Indianapolis Colts are 1-1, but could easily be 2-0. They are passed that and are focusing on the Week 3 matchup against division rival Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts have had great success against the Jags and veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne has been most of it. He should be in everyone’s starting lineup this week.

Entering Week 3, Wayne’s teammate T.Y. Hilton is listed as questionable with a groin injury. If things don’t bode well later this week, then Wayne could have himself a monster game against the Jaguars. He has put up excellent numbers against Jacksonville in his career. In 23 games, he posted nine 100-yard games and averages 85.0 yards per game with seven touchdowns.

Wayne is easily Andrew Luck‘s favorite target. He had a total of 20 targets in the first two weeks and caught 12 of those passes for 126 yards. He had a career-high 195 targets in 2012, Luck’s first season in the league.

In just two weeks, the Jags are at the bottom of the NFL in terms of points allowed per game. While playing two two high-powered offenses in the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins, the Jaguars have allowed 37.5 points per game. With the offense we saw from the Colts on Monday night, expect more of the same.

Wayne is easily a WR2 this week. Despite being 35 years old, he is the No. 1 wide receiver for the Colts. He is a borderline WR1 in PPR leagues. Unless you own two top-10 guys like Dez Bryant and Jordy Nelson, Wayne belongs in your starting lineup.
