FanDuel Week 4 Fantasy Football: 10 Players Who Are Overvalued

Different from your standard fantasy football leagues, FanDuel allows fantasy enthusiasts to pick a new team every week. Each week, you're given million to spread amongst your team. Unlike standard leagues, your draft mostly revolves around cost-efficiency. There are some bargains out there, but these are the players that won't pay off for you this week.

Ryan has been an inconsistent contributor this season. He's a top-five QB right now, but his next opponent, the Minnesota Vikings, have put the likes of Tom Brady and Drew Brees in their place. He may follow suit and play "well," but not excel at his asking price.

9. RB Jamaal Charles - Kansas City Chiefs

Charles appears to be on track to play this week against the New England Patriots, but he's still recovering. Based on how well Knile Davis has played for the Chiefs, I don't expect Charles to immediately return to his prominence -- at least, he's not worth over million yet.

Luck is the most expensive player on FanDuel this week, but by no means will he have anywhere near the highest output. He has yet to record over 18 points against the Tennessee Titans in his career, and he's thrown two TDs to four INTs in his career against them. He may be the best fantasy QB right now, but don't expect it this week.

7. RB Eddie Lacy - Green Bay Packers

They must think it's the beginning of the season when Lacy was anticipated as a top-five RB. Lacy has hardly shown up to games thus far, scoring a season-high five points against the New York Jets, and I doubt he can surpass that against the Chicago Bears. Maybe they're banking on a rebound, but why spend money on a hope and a prayer at his cost?

6. RB Steven Jackson - Atlanta Falcons

Jackson is certainly capable, and he showed that last week by finding the end zone, but he may disappear against the Vikings this week. Not only that, but when there's bargain players like Donald Brown and Darren Sproles listed a shade under Jackson's price tag, you really shouldn't invest in Jackson.

5. TE Jason Witten - Dallas Cowboys

Witten has been Mr. Reliable for the past decade, so fantasy owners kept buying into his stock, but he's averaged just five points a game this season; leaving a lot to yearn for. Romo and him should click at some point this season, but I'm not sure this is the week to count on it; wait for them to prove themselves first.

4. WR Reggie Wayne - Indianapolis Colts

In similar vein to Witten, Wayne has been a reliable fantasy asset, but he's getting up in age, and his production is slipping. He's a top-50 WR right now, even with his top-ranked QB that I'm anticipating to slip up this week. Mix that together, and Wayne isn't worth nearly as much as FanDuel is pegging him.

3. RB James Starks - Green Bay Packers

I'm curious as to why they have Starks ranked this high. He only has nine points on 19 touches this season, and is hardly a reliable option with Lacy getting the bulk of the carries. Starks had upside a few years ago, but he's long past that stage of his career.

2. RB Joe McKnight - Kansas City Chiefs

McKnight mostly arrives on this list because there are three Chiefs running backs booked at over M. Though I don't expect Charles to be a big player behind Knile Davis this week, I really don't think McKnight can get in enough targets through the air -- last week was likely just a fluke.

1. WR Devin Hester - Atlanta Falcons

No doubt, Hester's record-breaking punt return last week was monumental, but does his career merit praise for the season? Certainly not. He nearly had 100 yards in Week 1, but has since only been targeted twice. There's something odd with that, as he's the 40th ranked WR. Hester will likely continue putting up marginal numbers with an occasional burst, but I don't see that reoccurring this week.
