5 Dark Horse Plays On Draft Kings In Week 4 Fantasy Football

The team that finds the most dark-horse players that are not expected to produce very much but end up obliterating value is typically the team that wins in weekly fantasy football. The truth is, everyone's stars typically accumulate similar stats, so it's the back end of your roster that ends up being the difference-maker. Here's a look at five dark horse candidates to have surprise performances in Week 4 fantasy football on Draft Kings.

5. Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders $5,200

Carr's been serviceable over his first three NFL starts, and while he will not overwhelm statistically, he costs near minimum against your cap, which frees up a ton of space to load up at the skill positions on your roster. The Miami Dolphins' defense stinks, so Carr could easily throw for 250 yards and two TDs, which would be more than adequate at his price.

4. Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers $4,200

The Buccaneers' passing attack has not produced like many expected under the new Lovie Smith, Josh McCown regime. But with their running backs struggling, and Mike Glennon starting in McCown's place, I believe this week will be different. The Pittsburgh Steelers' secondary is suspect and let the Baltimore Ravens (which are far from impressive) cut them to shreds in Week 2. Glennon's presence will lead to 65 yards and a TD for Evans.

3. Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco 49ers $3,200

Hyde hasn't quite made the impact that many expected thus far into his rookie campaign, but Frank Gore has struggled, which makes the prevailing thought that Hyde will continue to cut into Gore's carries have merit. San Francisco faces the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, and the Eagles couldn't stop a colony of ants as currently constructed. Expect 60 yards total and a TD from Hyde this week.

2. Owen Daniels, TE, Baltimore Ravens $4,100

Two weeks ago against the Steelers, Owens went for five receptions, 28 yards and two TDs while splitting looks with
Dennis Pitta. Now, with Pitta injured once again, Daniels' presence become crucial to what the Ravens want to do in the passing game by sending Steve Smith and Torrey Smith out wide and the TE inside. Pitta was seeing a plethora of targets this season as will Daniels, and Daniels becomes Baltimore's best red-zone option in Week 4.

1. Allen Robinson, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars $4,400

Robinson has had no less than 75 yards receiving over the Jaguars' last two games. It appears with Blake Bortles now starting at QB, the WR could be utilized even more than he already has been. He was targeted 10 times last week and finished with seven receptions for 79 yards. Many DFS players are going to assume Allen Hurns deserves the bump, but it's actually Robinson; especially in a one-point PPR format like Draft Kings.
