Ahmad Bradshaw Fantasy Football Week 6 Projection

Fantasy Football Ahmad Bradshaw

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

After five weeks of fantasy football, it has become clear that Ahmad Bradshaw has climbed Mount Olympus and joined the ranks of the elite running backs. Even with former first-round pick/Baby Beast Mode/worst trade acquisition in recent memory Trent Richardson accompanying Bradshaw in the backfield, it is very obvious who Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts are turning to for running back skill.

The Colts’ matchup against the Houston Texans should be favorable for Bradshaw. While the Texans’ defense hasn’t allowed a rushing touchdown in the unit’s last two games, it still ranks below average when it comes to points per game at 17.8 to opposing running backs (ESPN scoring).

Also, don’t be intimidated by the Texans’ streak of no rushing touchdowns since Bradshaw has yet to score a rushing touchdown this season. All of his touchdowns come through the air, something which the Texans’ defense struggles with. While it may seem intimidating starting Bradshaw against the likes of J.J. Watt and Brian Cushing, Bradshaw’s ability to catch the ball in space and score receiving touchdowns will help him going against Houston’s defense.

Richardson has made somewhat of a comeback, but he still has yet to show enough constancy to take snaps away from Bradshaw, so I wouldn’t worry too much about a running back committee.

Luck and the Colts’ offense have been scoring a lot of points, and they’ll keep on doing that against the Texans. So far, only Dwayne Allen has been able to keep up with Bradshaw when it comes to touchdown catches (they both have four on the year). Luck will be looking to go to his trusted scorers early this game, so expect Bradshaw to be used quickly and often.

Week 6 Prediction: 12 ATT for 76 YDS, 5 REC for 30 YDS and 1 TD
