Nick Foles hasn’t been the fantasy superstar he was during his breakout 2013 campaign, but that was to be expected following his unsustainably high TD:INT ratio. However, Foles has been a solid in four of his five games this season, with his only bad game coming in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers. This week, Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles take on a New York Giants team that has had its share of issues against the pass this season.

The Giants rank 11th in the NFL in run defense but just 27th in pass defense, a promising sign for Foles owners. The Eagles have been much more pass heavy than they were a year ago, and Foles hasn’t attempted less than 37 passes in a game this year. There is really no incentive for them to change the game plan against a Giants’ secondary that is better on paper than on the field.

Foles has only faced the Giants once in his career, throwing for 197 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in an Eagles win last October. The Eagles’ offensive line is rounding into form, having only allowed one sack in the last four games. In fact, they didn’t even give up a QB hit last week against the St. Louis Rams. The Giants are tied for 15th in the NFL in sacks this season, so there shouldn’t be too much concern about the pass rush.

The only thing fantasy owners really need to worry about is turnovers, as Foles has thrown five picks and fumbled four times this year. The Giants have an opportunistic defense that is tied for fourth in the NFL in takeaways with 10, and Foles has to be careful to protect the ball. As long he does that though, there should plenty of opportunities to move the ball through the air and put up good numbers.

Fantasy owners shouldn’t have any concerns about using Foles as they usually would this week, and he could be in for one of his better games of this young season. The Giants have holes, and Chip Kelly will find ways to exploit them. Look for Foles to have a strong game, and he should be a very reliable option this week.

Week 6 Projection: 27/42 passing, 305 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
