It appears that, at least for the purposes of fantasy football, rumors of the New England Patriots‘ demise have been greatly exaggerated. After missing big parts of the last two seasons, tight end Rob Gronkowski appears to be healthy once again, and he’ll be a big part of the Patriots offense this weekend against the Buffalo Bills.

Through the first five games of the season, Gronkowski has slowly worked his way back into a featured role for New England, and in his most recent outing against the Cincinnati Bengals, the return to classic “Gronk” form appeared to be complete. Catching six passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, he delighted the fans in Gillette Stadium, many of whom had been questioning whether quarterback Tom Brady had enough left in the tank to continue performing at a championship level.

If Gronkowski’s stated goal is still to “make 12 look like Tom Brady again”, he certainly appears to be on the right track. With touchdowns in four of five games and a monster performance against a normally stout Bengals defense, there’s no reason to believe that Gronkowski’s success will come to a stop anytime soon. While the Patriots seem to have found a more stable rushing attack, and receiver Julian Edelman will still get his share of targets, there’s no question that Brady’s most trusted target is No. 87, and especially in the red zone, targets generally equal fantasy success.

The Bills are certainly no pushover on defense themselves, allowing just one touchdown to opposing tight ends so far in 2014. However, they rank just 21st against the pass, giving up an average of 253.8 yards per game. Considering that Brady and company are likely to come out slinging the ball around the field, this looks like a juicy matchup for Gronkowski. He’s a no-brainer to keep in your lineup, and could be the piece that wins your game this week.

Projection: 7 receptions, 82 yards, 1 TD
