Fantasy Football Week 6 Sleeper: Tim Wright

After what was a ton of panic in New England following a horrific loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, they were able to silence all of the critics with a dominating win against the Cincinnati Bengals at home. The main concern for the New England Patriots was that their offense may not have had the weapons they once did. But their offense clicked against the Bengals, and Tom Brady looked like he still has plenty of game left in him.

Over the past few seasons, the Patriots haven’t put the greatest of weapons around Brady, but in the offseason one of the more shocking trades right before the season started sent Tim Wright up to New England for Logan Mankins.

After a solid rookie season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Wright has been going through the adjustment period of learning a new offense. In the first four weeks of the season, Wright wasn’t involved much in the offense. He was only targeted four times with four catches during that time.

In the victory against the Bengals, Wright finally got into the offense, and the Patriots’ offense looked a lot like when they had the great TE combo with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Wright caught five passes for 85 yards with a touchdown reception, but he likely wasn’t in many fantasy football owners’ lineups.

In Week 6, Wright can probably be added in most leagues and can certainly pay dividends later in the season. The more time Wright has in the Patriots’ offense the better he will start to play, as it seems that he can fill the role Hernandez used to play. Brady will continue to gain confidence in Wright, and that makes him a very good sleeper to add in fantasy.
