James Jones Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection

While I like Andre Holmes riding his hot streak into the Oakland Raiders‘ matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, I also like James Jones‘ prospects this week, because I see rookie Derek Carr having another big game like he had last week with four touchdowns.

Arizona has given up the second most points to WRs this season, and has been particularly gracious with touchdowns in the past two weeks – allowing two per game. Combine that with the Raiders coming in winless, but riding a great game against the San Diego Chargers last week, and expect them to exploit the Cardinals for all their worth this week. They’ll be attacking through the air with nothing to lose.

Jones has taken a slight backseat to Holmes in recent weeks (Holmes scoring three times in two games on more targets), but Jones has been the predominant receiver for Carr so far. He’s averaging more than five targets per game. I expect him to be targeted above that average this week, about seven total and hauling in five for 60 yards. Six points will suffice, but if Carr can fulfill my prediction of four touchdowns, one will likely end up in Jones’ hands. Even if he doesn’t find the end zone four times, Jones will still play a big role in the offense and is bound to score a second straight week — totaling 12 points in Week 7.
