History tells us that you should never play a guy in any fantasy league just days after he was traded to a brand new team. Well, contrary to that notion, for Week 8, I believe playing Percy Harvin will do you wonders.

Although Harvin was just traded to the New York Jets, there are plenty of reasons why Harvin could have his breakout performance this Sunday. For starters, Harvin is due for a huge performance. Secondly, with the limited skill players this offense has, the Jets will likely force the football to Harvin as he gives them the best chance to move the ball down the field.

While Harvin has lost a step since his 2012 self, he is still a matchup problem for opposing defenses. On Sunday, Harvin and the Jets will be going up against the Buffalo Bills, who are giving up the 23rd-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. New York’s offense is more horizontal than vertical, and that will favor Harvin and his speed. Even though he has practiced for less than a week with the Jets, don’t be surprised if offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg has a few plays for Harvin.

Currently, Harvin’s FanDuel salary this week is $6,500. To show you a comparison, this total puts him below players like Larry Fitzgerald and Marques Colston. Playing Harvin is most certainly a risk in Week 8, but he is simply due for a huge performance. Geno Smith is inconsistent, but he has had success against the Bills. Adding a playmaker like Harvin will be huge for Smith. Don’t be surprised if Harvin gets you around 15 points in Fanduel on Sunday.
