Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickup: WR Mike Evans

Mike Evans

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

This season as been filled with many rookies showing off their skills. This week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans had his breakout game. He’s been a consistent option in the Bucs passing offense and should be picked up in all leagues.

Evans had his best game of the season against the Cleveland Browns. He hauled in seven passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Previously, Evans’ most catches were five in Week 1. He’s had four in every other game. Evans is catching most of the passes thrown his way, 15 receptions on 26 targets over the last three games. Vincent Jackson has just 11 receptions in the same time span.

Up next for Evans and the Bucs are division opponent Atlanta Falcons. Even though the Falcons were off in Week 9, the team still has one of the worst passing defenses in the league. Entering this week, the Falcons have allowed 23.3 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

With six teams on a bye, a lot of fantasy superstars will be off as well. Of the players on a bye, owners won’t have access to T.Y Hilton, Reggie WayneDeSean JacksonPierre GarconDeAndre HopkinsAndre Johnson and Brandon LaFell. With all of these players on bye, Evans becomes a high-value waiver wire pick up.

Evans is currently available in 68.4 percent of ESPN.com leagues. The matchup against Atlanta is good enough to have Evans in the flex in standard leagues. He bumps up to WR2 in PPR formats. Regardless, Evans is a must-own going forward.
