Fantasy Football Week 10 Start or Sit: Larry Donnell

Since hauling in three touchdowns in a Thursday Night game from QB Eli Manning, New York Giants TE Larry Donnell has started to fall from grace among the fantasy football community.

Donnell followed up his career game by posting two straight goose eggs. Between Week 5-6, the tight end hauled in only one pass for six total yards. He was targeted just two times over that stretch and it caused him to be dropped by many owners.

Even worse, the tight end fumbled the ball twice against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. Luckily, though, Donnell still hauled in all seven of his targets for 90 yards. It didn’t exactly make up for the fumbles, but it still showed the team is dedicated to getting him targets, even when he isn’t at his best.

LD had another promising outing in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts. He may have only caught four balls for 25 yards, but he caught an impressive five-yard touchdown. It was the first time he reached pay-dirt since the end of September and it appears he will see even more red-zone targets with the inexperienced talent at the wide receiver position.

Most owners assume that Donnell isn’t a strong start this week because New York plays the impossible defense of the Seattle Seahawks. However, Seattle is currently allowing the third-most fantasy points (10.8) to opposing tight ends and have allowed the position to catch 10 touchdowns . Seattle hasn’t looked nearly as good as they did during their championship run and the unit can be beat downfield.

Donnell has earned a spot as a weekly starter, but he is a must-start this week with a favorable matchup. If you own this tight end, make sure to get him active in all formats.
