Jay Cutler Fantasy Football Week 10 Projection

Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears, Fantasy Football Week 10

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

A bye week came at a good time for Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears, as they were outscored 78-37 in Week 7 and Week 8 combined. Things will not be easy in Week 10, with a Sunday night game against the Green Bay Packers on the slate, but Cutler’s fantasy outlook may not be as dismal as many might think.

Cutler has multiple passing touchdowns in six of eight games this season, and in one of the games he threw just one touchdown he had 381 passing yards (Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons). Against the Packers back in Week 4, Cutler threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns along with two interceptions while also adding 29 rushing yards (16 fantasy points; ESPN scoring).

The Packers enter this week in the top half of the league against quarterbacks (15.5 fantasy points per game; ESPN scoring). But they have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in four of their last five games, including three straight games before their own Week 9 bye. Safety Morgan Burnett (calf) missed Green Bay’s last game and cornerback Sam Shields (knee) missed the two games prior to the bye week, but both have used the week off to get healthy and should return to action this week.

Cutler has posted double-digit fantasy points seven times in eight games this season, with exactly 21 in three of his last four games, and he has at least 16 fantasy points (ESPN scoring) in each of those seven contests.

Cutler is likely to be in most fantasy lineups this week, due in part to six teams being on a bye, but his own consistent output so far this year makes him starter material by itself. The Bears’ defense is likely to struggle against Green Bay’s offense, so if nothing else Cutler is line to throw the ball more than 40 times for the first time since Week 1 (49 attempts against the Buffalo Bills).

Jay Cutler Week 10 Fantasy Projection: 27-for-45 for 285 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions; 20 rushing yards
